Arriving promptly at 6 am each morning, Hall documented much of the progress made by dedicated crews working through the night with photographs. His meticulous inspections and keen eye for detail contributed to the exceptional craftsmanship of the aircraft.

Donald Hall’s invaluable contributions to aviation engineering and the Spirit of St. Louis have left an enduring mark on aviation history including his critical role with other designs, like the B-24 Liberator bomber in WWII.
