Ryan NYP Wing Maneuvered Over Santa Fe Boxcar (1927)

An archival documentary photograph taken by Donald A. Hall Sr. recording the transfer of the 46-foot Spirit of St. Louis wing onto railroad transport equipment outside the Ryan factory. A team of Ryan mechanics and railway workers stand atop an A.T. & S.F. boxcar (#63365, marked Automobile and Furniture) to receive and guide the swinging airfoil as the R.E. Hazard crane lowers it into position. The bold "N-X-211" registration and Clark Y airfoil profile dominate the upper frame, showcasing the scale of Hall's extended wingspan.
