Ryan NYP Head-On Optical Alignment and CG Calibration View (1927)

An archival engineering photograph taken from a low ground perspective directly in front of the Spirit of St. Louis at Dutch Flats. The view captures the 46-foot high-wing monoplane in level stance, showing the Clark Y wing profile, the wide-track split-axle landing gear, and the Wright Whirlwind engine. Hall used these optical ground tests to confirm transverse symmetry and landing gear alignment.
