A high-angle archival photograph taken from above and behind the tail of the Spirit of St. Louis at Dutch Flats. The photograph clearly displays the massive black civil registration "N-X-211" painted across the upper surface of the right wing. Directly forward of the aft fuselage turtledeck, the rectangular cockpit skylight window is visible in the wing center section, engineered by Donald A. Hall to provide upward visibility and cockpit illumination.
