Ryan NYP Cockpit Throttle Quadrant, Wobble Pump, and Fuel Selector Valves (1927)

An archival engineering photograph providing a detailed view of the lower cockpit controls and fuel distribution plumbing inside the Spirit of St. Louis. Prominently featured are the manual fuel wobble pump lever on the left, the curved throttle and mixture quadrant, and the intricate array of brass shut-off and cross-feed valves. Engineered by Donald A. Hall Sr., this mechanical system allowed Charles Lindbergh to manually pressurize fuel lines and balance fuel transfer between five internal tanks during transatlantic operations.
