Ryan NYP High-Speed Airspeed Calibration at 120 MPH (May 1927)

Macro photograph of cockpit instrument cluster during high-speed test run showing airspeed indicator needle at 120 mph.
Ryan NYP High-Speed Airspeed Calibration at 120 MPH (May 1927) · Donald A. Hall Estate Collection

An archival in-flight telemetry photograph detailing the cockpit instrument panel of the Spirit of St. Louis during high-speed flight trials. The Pioneer airspeed indicator needle is captured pointing steadily at 118–120 mph, with the aircraft clock reading approximately 2:50 and the turn-and-bank indicator centered. This exposure documented maximum level-flight velocity during Donald Hall's airspeed and engine RPM calibration program.
