Ryan NYP 46-Foot Wing Hoisted by Crane Truck at Factory (1927) · Donald A. Hall Estate Collection

A primary historical negative captured by Donald A. Hall Sr. documenting the hoisting of the completed 46-foot Ryan NYP wing outside the Juniper Street factory. Suspended from the boom of an R.E. Hazard Contracting Co. crane truck, the massive one-piece Clark Y wing displays the painted black registration "N-X-211" as crew members use guide ropes to steady the structure above the street. Lowered from the second-story loft of the former cannery building, this operation highlights the logistical feat of moving the oversized airfoil for transit to Dutch Flats.
