A candid family snapshot photographed by Elisabeth Hall documenting daily domestic life in Southern California. Donald A. Hall Sr. smiles from the driver's window of a 1935–1936 Ford coupe parked with its alligator hood raised for engine maintenance, while his young son Donald Hall Jr. perches atop a wooden lattice porch balustrade watching his father. The image provides an intimate glimpse into the home and mechanical life of the Hall family during the mid-1930s.
