Vernal Fall in Yosemite Valley (1927)

A powerful rectangular waterfall cascading into a deep granite canyon, viewed down a boulder-strewn rushing river framed by tall conifers. — Vernal Fall in Yosemite Valley (1927) · Donald A. Hall Estate Collection

In stark contrast to his demanding aviation work in 1927, this serene image captures streaming water framing water flowing down a ravine at Yosemite's Vernal Fall. Donald A. Hall Sr. composed this shot to emphasize natural symmetry.
