Continuing the legendary 1927 extraction sequence, Donald A. Hall Sr. photographed the crew using a crane to lift the delicate, 46-foot Spirit of St. Louis wing off the train boxcar. With 15 men assisting, the massive structure was carefully lowered onto a flatbed truck for final transport to Dutch Flats.
