Donald A. Hall Sr. Beside Aircraft Empennage at San Diego Airfield (Circa 1928)

A candid airfield photograph capturing Chief Engineer Donald A. Hall Sr. standing beside the tail surfaces of an experimental aircraft at Dutch Flats in San Diego. Dressed in a suit with rolled trouser cuffs, Hall smiles broadly while resting his hand on the horizontal stabilizer. In the background, the open expanse of the dirt field, tidal mudflats, and coastal hills provide environmental context for Hall's flight test work in San Diego.
