Mirror Reflection of Forest Shoreline on Glassy Lake (Circa 1925)

Glassy freshwater lake surface perfectly reflecting a dense, continuous wall of deciduous forest along the shoreline under an open sky. — Mirror Reflection of Forest Shoreline on Glassy Lake (Circa 1925) · Donald A. Hall Estate Collection

A serene study in natural symmetry and light reflection, Donald A. Hall Sr. photographed this untouched freshwater lake. The mirror-smooth surface of the water produces a sharp, inverted reflection of the lush deciduous trees bordering the shore, illustrating the quiet recreational excursions Hall took away from his demanding industrial drafting duties at the Ford Motor Company.
