This historic building, a former fish cannery, served as the Ryan Airlines factory where Donald A. Hall Sr. engineered and built the Spirit of St. Louis in just 60 days in 1927. During the Great Depression, which devastated his independent Hall Aeronautical Development Company plans, Hall even lived inside this very building for a time.
