Department of Commerce Telegram Relaying Buenos Aires Transatlantic Airplane Request (1927)

An official Postal Telegraph dispatch received at 516 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, on June 10, 1927, sent by Clarence M. Young, Director of Aeronautics at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, addressed to Donald A. Hall at his family home at 286 Dahill Road. Young informs Hall that a citizen of Buenos Aires has requested price and delivery terms for an aircraft identical in type and Wright Whirlwind engine configuration to Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis to carry a two-man crew from Buenos Aires to Ireland, demonstrating immediate international commercial demand for Hall's transatlantic design.
