Windblown Surf and Coastal Cloud Formations (1927)

Venturing along the Pacific shoreline in 1927, Donald A. Hall Sr. documented turbulent ocean swells beneath layered, windblown clouds. Hall’s technical mastery of exposure allowed him to capture the fluid textures of churning whitewater without blowing out the overcast sky.
