Nevada Fall Rushing Down Sloping Granite Face (1927)

A striking vertical study of Nevada Fall, Donald A. Hall Sr. captured the Merced River as it sweeps down its iconic steep granite apron before free-falling into the canyon below. Framed by a solitary mountain pine in the foreground and dark evergreen forests along the cliff rim, the high-contrast exposure records the white water ribbons cascading across polished glacial rock surfaces along the historic Mist Trail route.
