Blending his passion for exploration and portraiture, Donald A. Hall Sr. photographed this trio of travelers framed under the sweeping, spiky limbs of an ancient Joshua tree in the California desert. The subjects wear quintessential late-1920s summer attire, preserving a lighthearted moment of desert recreation.
