A line of eight smiling flight cadets standing shoulder-to-shoulder in matching sweaters and riding breeches, with their caps and a small dog at their feet.
Flight Cadets and Mascot (1927) · Donald A. Hall Estate Collection

This classic 1920s military photograph documents the strong brotherhood among the flight cadets at Brooks Field. Lined up in their thick training sweaters with their caps resting on the grass, the cadets are joined by a small dog, likely a squadron mascot.
