An extraordinary primary document cementing historical authorship: the inscribed title page of an advance presentation copy of Charles A. Lindbergh's 1953 Pulitzer Prize-winning autobiography The Spirit of St. Louis. Hand-inscribed one month prior to official publication, Lindbergh writes: "To Donald A. Hall, who had such a great part in the flights of the 'Spirit of St. Louis' Charles A. Lindbergh New York August, 1953". This inscription represents Lindbergh's definitive personal acknowledgment of Hall's preeminent engineering role in the transatlantic triumph.
