Charles A. Lindbergh Letter Regarding Industry Conferences and Means Trial (1933) · Donald A. Hall Estate Collection

Written on his 39 Broadway executive stationery on May 22, 1933, Charles A. Lindbergh writes to Chief Engineer Donald A. Hall Sr. regarding industry outreach for Hall's advanced aircraft designs. Lindbergh recounts meeting briefly with Donald Douglas before Douglas departed for Santa Barbara, discusses his required testimony in Washington at the trial of Gaston B. Means concerning the kidnapping extortion swindle, states his intention to discuss Hall's concepts with Glenn L. Martin, and explicitly advises Hall: "would it not be a good plan for you to talk to Douglas and Northrop again?" The letter documents Lindbergh's active role championing Hall's post-Ryan engineering work to America's leading aircraft manufacturers.
