# The next century of flight needs more than pilots.

Roots2Wings connects an inspiring first encounter with aviation to practical learning, credentials, entrepreneurship, and a visible route into the wider STEAM workforce.

---

## Inspiration matters—but a visible next step matters more.

Many young people understand aviation through only a few visible roles: pilot, astronaut, or engineer. Those who do not immediately identify with those roles—or who believe they lack the math, money, prerequisites, confidence, equipment, transportation, or connections—may decide the entire field is not for them.

Roots2Wings broadens the map. Flight depends on maintenance, operations, regulation, media, insurance, law, logistics, manufacturing, software, AI, robotics, business, finance, public service, safety, and entrepreneurship. The program helps participants encounter that ecosystem, exercise agency, make a work sample, and connect to a credible next step.

## Roots2Wings: Inspiring Youth, Empowering Adults

### Intro to Aviation

A hands-on drone course covering flight safety, airspace, weather, mission planning, aviation intelligence, data, responsible technology, and the people and systems that keep aircraft moving. Students finish with practical experience, a visible project, and a clearer view of where they could go next.

### STEAM Career Pathways

Beginning with Commercial Drone training and FAA Part 107 Certification, then broadening into operations, maintenance, software, data, safety, media, logistics, business, and entrepreneurship as training and employer partners come aboard.

## First 100. Then scale toward 1,000.

- **First 100 · pilot goal: Prove the model** — Serve the first 100 participants, refine curriculum, equipment, safety, facilitation, and evaluation, and produce student work plus sponsor-ready evidence.
- **Toward 1,000 · scale goal: Expand what works** — Scale the same program through trained partners, shared quality standards, and comparable outcome records—expanding only what the first 100 prove works.

---

## From first encounter to a future in STEAM.

- **Discover: Find an anchor** — Encounter a person, object, story, place, or challenge that makes aviation and technology feel personally possible.
- **Explore: See the full career map** — Meet the roles, systems, institutions, and businesses that make safe flight and transportation possible.
- **Practice: Use tools responsibly** — Fly, simulate, communicate, design, inspect, document, analyze, create, and learn safety through supervised practice.
- **Build: Create a capstone or work sample** — Turn learning into something attributable that a teacher, mentor, employer, or future participant can understand.
- **Connect: Accept a next step** — Reach a club, course, credential, visit, mentor, project, internship, employer, or entrepreneurship resource.
- **Continue: Return as an alumnus, mentor, creator, or employer** — The pathway becomes durable when participants can contribute back to the network.
