Come join “Flying Over Time: The Spirit of St. Louis Exhibition” for a day up in the clouds at the Sedona Airport for “Airport Day”, an annual event hosted by the Sedona Airport (501-C3) and Flying over Time (501-C3). There will be food vendors, static aircraft displays, vintage aircraft, and booths from organizations around the state of Arizona.

In particular, there will be different aviation activities for all ages.  Among many fascinating and fun flight-themed activities, a unique exhibition will be installed in the airport’s terminal building including the signature art of artist Nova Hall, a Verde Valley School alumni and Arizona State University graduate.  It was in 1999 that Nova Hall, grandson of Donald A. Hall Sr., Chief Engineer and designer of the Spirit of St. Louis (which hangs in the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum), discovered a locked WWI era trunk filled with parts of the missing collection and papers of how the famous aircraft was built in 60 days in 1927 for Charles Lindbergh.  Lindbergh later became known internationally for this flight, changing the pace of aviation and airport development around the world.  Nova Hall’s art reflects this complex narrative, while combing with the original photography of his grandfather.

There will be an “Author’s Corner” too, where part-time Sedona resident and famous pilot Kermit Weeks will be signing his new children’s aviation book, The Spirit of Lindy. Additionally, Nova Hall will be signing his own new soft cover edition of Spirit and Creator: the Mysterious Man Behind Lindbergh’s Flight to Paris.   Lastly, Nina Anderson, official WINGS presenter, who is a 25+ year veteran corporate aircraft pilot and flight safety specialist, will be signing her book, Flying Above the Glass Ceiling regarding the journey and challenges of female pilots through the years.

We will have different raffles throughout the day for prizes like T-shirts, books, and even plane rides!  So don’t miss out on a fun-filled day of aviation, art, and history!продвижение сайта статьями
